Book Reviews – 750 words max.

ON TRACK Journal

Published in ON TRACK, we encourage you to select books you’ve read recently to review. The purposes of a review is to inform readers of the publication of a book of professional interest, tell briefly what the book is about, and provide a concise evaluation of the book. Priority will be given to those reviewing books that are recently published (in the past 6 months).

Book reviews will be selected for publication based upon a number of criteria including recentness, caliber of the analysis and writing, and relevance to security and defence. Not sure whether a book would be relevant?

Vimy Papers and CDA Institute Analyses – 4000 words max.

Published Online and Print Editions

CDA Institute’s flagship publications are our Vimy Papers Series. The series covers some specific topics such as energy security or the arctic, while other papers assess the strategic landscape of Canada.

Pieces that speak to current issues and seek to provide substantive additions to current debates are given priority. Historical pieces that draw lessons learned from recent operations or experiences will also be considered.

For this type of publication, authors will work closely with the Research Advisory Committee and other experienced professionals to ensure that those goals are met. Prior to a piece being considered as a CDA Institute Analysis or a Vimy Paper, a formal statement of work will be issued by the Research Coordinator, detailing the scope of the paper.
