The NATO Parliamentary Assembly was formed in 1955 and provides one of the many ways in which individuals from Alliance nations are able to meet and discuss a wide variety of topics that contributes to the shared objectives as enshrined the Washington Treaty. Since 1955, Canadian Parliamentarians have been making significant contributions to the work and reports of the NATO-PA, ensuring that Canadian interests, advice and experience is shared with their peers as well as influencing the NATO decision-making structure.
We are extremely pleased to support Julie Lindhout’s commitment to reviewing and then summarizing these reports to encourage wider knowledge of their existence and use of their analysis.  NATO remains a key element of the Canadian security framework – her summaries provide perspective and focus on the elements that should and must interest Canadians as we continue to evolve our approach to security and defence.
