Montréal Climate Security Summit 2025

The NATO CCASCOE and the Conference of Defence Associations (CDA) Institute are proud to announce the 4th Montréal Climate Security Summit, which will take place on October 8th-9th, 2025 in Montreal, Canada. The Montréal Climate Security Summit is an annual international meeting at the intersection of climate change and security, serving as a key venue for the global climate security community. It brings together military and civilian practitioners, policy leaders, researchers, civil society and industry stakeholders. This year’s edition will focus on strengthening military adaptation in the face of climate risks, including technical, scientific, and operational discussions exploring how armed forces can plan and execute activities across all domains in an operational environment shaped by climate change. The Summit will span over two days and will feature a mix of plenary panels, roundtables (up to 80 participants) and workshops (up to 50 participants) designed to further strengthen cross-sectoral dialogue across the community of interest, foster solutions-oriented discussions, and drive actionable outcomes.

Vimy Gala 2025

Celebrating its 33rd edition, the Vimy Gala has consistently held its reputation of being the most exclusive defence and security recognition gala of its kind, annually bringing together Senators, Members of Parliament, foreign dignitaries, senior public servants and general and flag officers of the Canadian Armed Forces as well as the business community to remember and honour Canada’s fallen heroes and celebrate the lifelong accomplishments of outstanding Canadians in security and defence.

National Security Dialogues

The National Security Dialogues are a series of defence related events happening across Canada in 2025 and 2026. These events aim to connect researchers, government officials, community leaders, business professionals, and other key voices to help increase Canadians understanding on national defence and security issues. These events create meaningful discussions and build a diverse network of Canadians who have an understanding of how crucial it is to begin having serious conversations about protecting our security, maintaining our sovereignty, and positioning ourselves effectively in a rapidly changing global environment.

Graduate Student Conference 2025

The Graduate Student Conference provides students with a unique platform to present their research, create professional connections, and hone their skills for the future. Participants will be given the opportunity to present their research and receive constructive feedback from a panel of high-profile judges who are active decision-makers in industry, government, academia, and think tanks across Canada. Our judges and audience will be taking note of who you are and the quality of your work. This is your chance to get your name out there, showcase your research to senior-level practitioners, and have it shared broadly within the Canadian defence and security community. 93rd Ottawa Conference | March 5th-6th 2025

Celebrating its 93rd edition in 2025, the Ottawa Conference stands as Canada’s premier defence and security assembly. The conference centers its discussions around a wide spectrum of security and defence matters, orchestrating a sequence of impactful keynotes, presentations, and dialogues led by distinguished experts in the fields of security and defence from Canada and across the globe. The audience consists of senior decision-makers in government, thought leaders in academia and civil society, and industry leaders. The event brings together Parliamentarians and reaches deep into the Department of National Defence, with a strong showing of general and flag officers. Many other key segments of government also attend from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Privy Council, Global Affairs Canada, PSPC, Treasury Board, Canadian Coast Guard, Public Safety, and over 20 other government departments and agencies.
