A Case for Canada’s Airborne Capability

Col (Ret'd) James Holsworth

In this volume of Voices of the CDA, Col (Ret’d) James Holsworth, with contributions from fellow Canadian Airborne Forces Association members, makes the case for rebuilding Canada’s airborne, parachute, and aerial delivery capabilities amid the country’s historic defence renewal. Drawing on thirty years of skill fade since the disbandment of the Canadian Airborne Regiment, the paper argues that a revitalized parachute capability is essential for Arctic sovereignty, coalition credibility, and rapid global response.
