November 4, 2026
Canadian War Museum: 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa, ON K1A 0M8
Vimy Gala Reception: 1730 – 1900
Dinner and Award Ceremony: 1900 – 2130
Now in its 34th year, the Vimy Gala is one of Canada’s leading gatherings in the defence and security community. Hosted by the CDA Institute, it brings together senior leaders from government, the Canadian Armed Forces, diplomacy, and industry to honour Canada’s fallen and recognize those shaping its defence and security landscape.
At its core is the presentation of the Vimy Award, one of Canada’s most respected honours, celebrating outstanding leadership and service.
More than an event, the Gala is an evening of reflection, recognition, and national pride, offering a meaningful moment during the Remembrance period to honour service and sacrifice.
Our New Logo
Inspired by the season of Remembrance, the new Vimy Gala logo uses four falling maple leaves to honour the four Canadian divisions whose unity and sacrifice secured victory at Vimy Ridge, while symbolizing the passage of time, the cost of freedom, and our enduring commitment to remember those who gave their lives in service to Canada: Lest We Forget.
We Remember Tribute - Be a Part of it
Following the strong response and meaningful reflections shared by guests last year, we are once again inviting our community to take part in a special tribute, We Remember at the Vimy Gala.
The CAF is not only part of Canada’s national story, but part of many of our own lives. It is the friend who deployed, the parent or grandparent who served, the colleague whose quiet strength endures, and in many cases, your own service or that of someone close to you.
We welcome you to share a photo that reflects your connection. Selected submissions will be featured in a visual tribute during the Gala.
Please submit your photo to vimygalatribute@cdainstitute.ca with the subject line: Vimy Gala Tribute. When submitting, please include the individual’s name and any information you would like us to share, such as years of service, rank, unit, branch, deployment history, or any other details that help tell their story. While space may limit the amount of information displayed, we will do our best to incorporate as much as possible.
Hosted Guest Program
We are pleased to once again offer the Hosted Guest Program, which allows table holders to donate seats (in pairs) to share the Vimy Gala experience with key stakeholders across our community. If you are interested, please let us know and we will help facilitate appropriate matches.
Participants in this program include:
- Currently serving general and flag officers (plus one spouse)
- Veterans from the Perley Rideau Health Centre (plus one caregiver)
- Royal Military College officer cadets
Important notice for DND Invitations:
All invitations involving currently serving Canadian Armed Forces personnel must be coordinated exclusively through the CDA Institute. Table holders should not extend direct invitations to DND personnel. All requests must be submitted to the CDA Institute, which will work with our designated DND representative to review and approve participation to ensure proper due diligence and avoid any real or perceived conflicts of interest.
