The release of the Arbour Report has renewed questions about the current state of Canadian military colleges (CMCs). Described as “institutions from a different era, with an outdated and problematic leadership model”, the CAF must adapt their officer education model to better reflect the identity and mission of CMCs. In this Vimy Paper, Dr. Danic Parenteau and LGen J.O Michel Maisonneuve (Ret’d) offer five proposals to reconnect the CMCs with their raison d’être, arguing that restructuring organizational culture within CAF is only possible if officers are given the tools necessary to undertake their roles as agents of cultural change.
